Locke

I just finished watching Locke, and it really puts into perspective how badly you can fuck up your own life with a single mistake. His affair is revealed right at the beginning, and within the span of one hour everything falls apart. Every disaster that follows traces back to that one night. Something that could have so easily been avoided. All of it, because of ONE simple mistake, with no way to take it back.

What compels people to do this sort of thing? Even drunk, you're still self-aware enough to stop yourself before it ever gets that far.

So, if it ever happens to you, here's the one thing I'll tell you, and it holds true no matter how you phrase it: they're lying. They don't love you. Because if they did, doing this would never have crossed their mind in the first place.
